Amy’s Nia Story:
Imagine having a transformation of your entire being in a one hour
class. I discovered a Nia class 30 minutes away and sought every
possibility to go. On this one particular day I hobbled in after
driving seven hours. ( A one day trip back and forth from Waterville
Valley, New Hampshire). My back and neck took on every turn, highway
and traffic jam. The music began; my body became enticed by the
soothing music. Though the instructor was energetic; I moved slowly
to adapt to my body after the drive. My body felt cramped in a sitting
position though I was standing. As the class progressed I felt my
muscles awaken, yet still moving at half the instructors speed.
I continued in my slow tempo. I was also aware that my heart rate
had gone up and I was still getting a cardiovascular workout. At
the end of the class I became aware of an unusual sensation. My
body felt loved as if I did not drive those seven hours. Standing
tall with no body memory of the drive. I was pain free and alert.
“Nia is magic to me”.
